WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Holy Cross football team rallied from a 26-point deficit with less than 20 minutes remaining to post a 32-31 victory Georgetown at Cooper Field. The Crusaders wrap up the season at 5-6 overall and 4-2 in the Patriot League, while the Hoyas conclude the season at 5-6 overall and 4-2 in the conference.

After trailing 31-5, senior quarterback Geoff Wade threw a 20-yard touchdown pass to senior wide receiver Martin Dorsey with 4:21 left in the third quarter to begin the comeback. Early in the fourth quarter, junior defensive back Macklin Kortebein blocked a punt which was returned 38 yards for a touchdown by freshman wide receiver Spencer Gilliam. Less than five minutes later, Kortebein blocked a second punt which freshman tailback Peter Oliver brought back 27 yards for a score, and the Crusaders trailed 31-25.

Still down by six with less than a minute and half to play, Wade found sophomore wide out Tenio Ayeni for 30 yards on a third-and-15 play to give the Crusaders a first down at the Georgetown 23-yard line. Five plays later, junior tailback Miles Alexander scored on a two-yard run with just 42 seconds on the clock to put Holy Cross up 32-31. Georgetown would have one last possession, but on the third play junior defensive back Chris Riley intercepted a pass to put the game away.

The Crusader defense held Georgetown to just 212 yards of total offense and 10 first downs on the afternoon, while forcing a pair of turnovers. Senior linebacker Ryan Brady led the way with 16 tackles, three tackles for loss and a safety, while senior defensive lineman Teddy Capsis added nine tackles with four tackles for loss. On the offensive side of the ball, Dorsey had a career-best 13 receptions for 139 yards and a score.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE:
• The 26-point comeback was the largest in program history.
• Dorsey's 13 catches tied for the third-most ever by a Holy Cross player in a single game.
• The Crusaders finish the season with a four-game winning streak, their longest since 2009.
