Junior linebackers
Ron Burton and
Will Miller of the Holy Cross football team have been selected as the recipients of the McGovern Family Football Awards, as recently announced during a team meeting — with the assistance of Rob McGovern '89 via video.
The McGovern Scholarship is awarded to two walk-on student-athletes annually, honoring Varsity Club Hall of Famers Jack McGovern '80 and Bill McGovern '85, who passed away following their battles with cancer. The scholarship honors the hard work and determination of Jack and Bill, who had prolific careers in the Purple and White.
During the Sept. 19 game against Yale, Jack's wife Ann and Bill's wife Colleen were on hand, along with numerous other family members, to celebrate this achievement with Burton and Miller.
