WORCESTER, Mass. - The Holy Cross women's hockey team will host the University of New Hampshire Saturday afternoon at 1:05 p.m. on Nov. 17. It will be the Crusaders' Pride Game as they attempt to raise money for Safe Homes, a local group that supports LGBTQ youth of Worcester. T-Shirts and wristbands will be for sale at the game.

 

Talking Points

Amanda Kewer leads the team with four points.

Carlie Magier, Maeve Reilly, and Kewer are tied for the team lead with two goals each.

Danielle Doherty, Katie MacCuaig, and Kewer share the team high of two assists.

Emma Lange is third in Hockey East with 18 blocked shots.  

• The Crusaders scored their first power play goal of the season against Merrimack last weekend.

 

Recapping Last Weekend

• The Crusaders faced Merrimack in a home-and-home last weekend on Nov. 9 and 10.

• In the first game, Holy Cross held the Warriors to within a goal for two and a half periods. It was one of the Crusaders' best defensive games of the season.

• In the game on Saturday, the Crusaders scored their first power play goal of the season off the stick of  Tori Messina with assists from Reilly and Sam Girard.

 

Scouting the Wildcats

• UNH has been led this season by Nicole Dunbar and Carlee Turner. Dunbar has three goals and two assists for five points, while Turner has recorded two goals and three assists.

• Ava Boutilier has spent the majority of time in goal for the Wildcats. She has allowed 2.23 goals against per game with a .924 save percentage.

• The Wildcats have converted on 13.6% of their power plays, while killing 92.9% of their penalties.

Freshman Impact

• Four freshman have recorded points so far this season for the Crusaders. Magier and Sommer Ross lead the class with two points  each. Magier has scored two goals and Ross has a goal and an assist.

• Lange and Skye Ziehwein have each registered one assist on the year.

 

Last Season

• The Crusaders and Wildcats met for the first time ever last season.

• UNH got the better of the matchup, winning 9-1.

• Kewer recorded Holy Cross' only goal of the game with Victoria Young registering the assist.

Up Next

• The Crusaders will face Harvard next Tuesday, Nov. 20, and then host Boston College on Saturday, Nov. 24.
