WORCESTER, Mass. – Holy Cross freshman forward Matt Barry has been named the Atlantic Hockey Rookie of the Month for October. It is Barry's first league honor and it marks the Crusaders' first Rookie of the Month accolade since Michael Laffin earned the honor in December of 2015. Barry is the ninth Crusader to claim the award.
Through Holy Cross' opening five games, Barry has recorded seven points to lead the team. The freshman forward has posted three goals and four assists to average 1.40 points per game. Barry leads the league in points per game through the month of October. He also ranks fifth among national rookies in points per game. In five games played, he has posted two multi-point effors and added points in all but one game.
Catch Barry and the Crusaders on Nov. 3 at the Hart Center as they take on No. 3 Providence at 7:00 p.m.
