• The Lead: Sophomore Joe Egan was the top individual performer for Holy Cross, as the Crusaders opened their spring season at the Fort Lauderdale Intercollegiate on March 6-7.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Egan finished in a tie for 64th overall with freshman Joe Brosseau, as both players finished competition with a score of 241. Egan posted round scores of 80, 81 and 80; while Brosseau posted scores of 84, 80 and 77.
• Sophomore Jake Peer posted round scores of 83, 82 and 79 to finish with an overall score of 244 to place in a tie for 70th.
• Freshman Drew Gerety finished 78th with a score of 250, as he posted round scores of 88, 83 and 79.
• Placing 88th overall was freshman Trevor Merril, who posted scores of 82, 85 and 88 to end with a two-day total of 255.

• The Crusaders will return to action on Sunday, April 2, as they open the first day of competition at the Lafayette Invitational in Hellertown, Pa.
