The Lead: Army forward Conor Andrle scored the game winning goal as the Holy Cross men's hockey team was defeated by Army West Point, 4-2, on Saturday night at Tate Rink.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Black Knights opened the scoring early at 1:22 when Michael Wilson wrapped around the net and knocked the puck past the lower stick side Holy Cross junior goalie Paul Berrafato to give Army a 1-0 lead. Dalton MacAfee and Taylor Maruya each tallied an assist on the play.
- Not long after, at 5:25, sophomore defenseman Johnny Coughlin took a shot that ricocheted off sophomore forward Peter Crinella into the net, tying the score at 1-1. Freshman defenseman Charlie Barrow also recorded an assist on the goal.
- Then, at 15:20, Alex Wilkinson wristed a shot from the top of the left face-off circle to give the Black Knights a 2-1 lead. C.J. Reuschlein and Tipper Higgins recorded assists on the play.
- Shortly after, junior forward Ryan Ferrill went on a breakaway and sent a shot past the stick side of Parker Gahagen to score the equalizer for the Crusaders at 16:52, making the score 2-2.
- With just 16.2 seconds left in the first period, MacAfee fired a pass from the top of the left face-off circle to Andrle who then converted the power play goal as the Black Knights finished the first period leading 3-2.
- Holy Cross outshot Army 15-7 in the first period, while the Black Knights went 0-1 on the power play.
- Neither team was able to find the back of the net during the second period.
- Army outshot Holy Cross 9-5 in the second period, while the Black Knights went 0-2 on the power play.
- With 1:10 left in the game, the Crusaders went with an empty net. Then, with 47 seconds remaining, Trevor Fidler wristed a shot from the top of the right face-off circle to secure the 4-2 victory for Army.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
- Holy Cross outshot Army, 33-19.
- The Crusaders went 0-1 on the power play, while Army went 1-3.
- Berrafato made 15 saves, while Gahagen recorded 30 to earn the victory.
- The Crusaders won 40 face-offs, while the Black Knights secured 30.
