The Lead: The Holy Cross women's hockey team tied RIT 2-2 in an overtime thriller at the Hart Center Rink Friday night. Junior Maeve Reilly and freshman Katie MacCuaig scored for the Crusaders in the first and third periods. MacCuaig tied the game with 14 minutes left to play. The score would remain the same even after extra time.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
- The Crusaders outshot the Tigers 28-26.
- RIT went 1-3 on the power play while Holy Cross went 0-2.
- Freshman goalie Julia Pelletier got her first career start against the Tigers and recorded 24 saves.
- Reilly and MacCuaig record their first points of the season. Reilly was assisted by junior Amanda Kewer and MaCuaig was assisted by junior Danielle Doherty and senior Kara Violette.
