• The Lead: The Holy Cross men's golf team placed 19th overall at the Hartford Hawks Invitational on Sept. 19-10 in South Kent, Conn.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Holy Cross was led by sophomore Joe Egan, who shot an 81 in the first round and followed up with a second round score of 80 for a two-day total of 161. Egan tied for 99th overall.
• Also tying in the 99th spot was freshman Drew Gerety, who earned round scores of 79 and 82 for a 161 total.
• Freshman Joe Brosseau finished in a tie for 103rd overall, scoring a 79 in round one and an 83 in round two for a two-day total of 162.
• Sophomore Jake Peer earned round scores of 82 and 81, respectively, to total 163 for the event which placed him 105th.
• Freshman Trevor Merril scored an 83 in round one and an 81 in round two, placing him 106th with a total score of 164.
• California Polytech finished first overall with a final team score of 558.
• Donnie Trosper of Central Florida was the top overall performer, finishing with scored of 65 and 69 for a total of 134.
