The Lead: Junior Zoe Matherne finished first for the Holy Cross women's cross country team and eighth overall with a time of 18:37, as the Crusaders placed fourth at the Shawn M. Nassaney Memorial Invitational on Saturday morning in Smithfield, R.I.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Finishing in ninth place was freshman Allison McArdle with a time of 18:41, followed by senior captain Mary Welsh who finished 14th, recording a time of 18:50.
- Other top finishers for the Crusaders included junior Kate Spitler who notched the 19th spot with a time of 19:00 and junior Elizabeth Lombardo who finished 27th with a time of 19:22.
