The Lead: The Holy Cross women's tennis team defeated Bentley, 7-2, on Saturday.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Crusaders took a 3-0 lead by winning the three doubles matches. Seniors Cassy Deng (Eden Prairie, Minn.) and Abby Henry (Wellesley, Mass.) won at No. 1 doubles, 9-7.
- The No. 2 doubles team of freshman Allison Reiling (Medham, N.J.) and sophomore Katie Elia (Erie, Pa.) won their match by an 8-4 score.
- Junior Izzy Bagi (Branford, Conn.) and freshman Morgan McGuire (Franklin Lakes, N.J.) took the No. 3 doubles match, 8-6.
- The Crusaders won four of the six singles matches to secure a 7-2 victory. Reiling won the No.1 singles match, 7-6 (8-6), 6-2.
- Deng took the No. 2 singles match, 6-3, 6-1, while Elia won at No. 4 singles, 7-6 (7-5), 6-4.
- Bagi won the No. 5 singles match by a 6-2, 6-4 score.
