The Lead: Freshman Alexander Escada (East Greenbush, N.Y.) placed 16th overall in the Holy Cross Decathlon on Wednesday and Thursday at the Hart Track and Turf Field.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Escada placed sixteenth in the decathlon with a total score of 5332 over the course of two days. He notched the most points in the 100 m dash, earning 689 points by recording a time of 11.81. Escada also performed well in the 400 m dash, recording a time of 53.73 for a score of 651, and the 110 m hurdles, earning a time of 16.63 to notch 663 points.
- Unattached athlete Trent Baltzell placed first overall with a 7153 score through all 10 events, while Nicholas Ingham of UMass finished second overall with a score of 6292.
- Rounding out the top five were Travon Godette of Westfield State in third with 6280 points, Jacob Moran of Rhode Island in fourth with 6249 points and Daniel Johnson in fifth with 6215 points.
