The Lead: Junior Izzy Bagi (Branford, Conn.) led the Crusaders with three points as Holy Cross defeated Franklin Pierce, 5-1, to win its 15th straight game on Saturday afternoon at the Hart Center.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Crusaders outshot the Ravens 11-7 in the first period, as neither team was able to find the back of the net in the first 20 minutes.
- Bagi got the scoring started at the 10:06 mark of the second period, as she skated into the offensive zone and found the back of the net with a wrist shot.
- Junior Elizabeth Scala (Rumford, R.I.) made it 2-0 at the 10:45 mark on the power play, as she sent home a rebound off a shot from Bagi at the blue line.
- At 13:01 of the second, Bagi would score her second of the day with a slap shot from the point on the power play, making it 3-0 Holy Cross.
- Junior Erin Hall (Pembroke, Mass.) made it 4-0 with the Crusader's third power play goal of the game as she took a long wrist shot from the top of the faceoff circle that found its way in.
- Holy Cross outshot Franklin Pierce 12-6 in the second period.
- At 6:31 of the third period, Hall fed the puck down low to Scala, who was able to sneak it past the pad of Franklin Pierce netminder Noelle White.
- Michelle Holmes would get the Ravens on the board at 12:08 of the third period, as she came up with the puck through traffic in front of the Crusaders' crease and found the back of the net.
- Franklin Pierce outshot Holy Cross 8-7 in the third period.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
- Sophomore goaltender Tessie Salatas (Laval, Quebec) made 20 saves and allowed one goal to earn the win in net for Holy Cross.
- Shannon O'Neil made 18 saves and allowed four goals in the first 33:45 for Franklin Pierce, while White stopped seven shots and allowed one goal in the remaining 26:15.
- Holy Cross outshot Franklin Pierce 30-21.
- The Crusaders were 3-for-3 on the power play, while the Ravens were 0-for-7.
- Bagi (2g, 1a), Scala (2g) and Hall (1g, 1a) all had multi-point games.
BEYOND THE BOXSCORE:
- The Crusaders have now won 15 games in a row, setting a new school record for consecutive wins by the team. Holy Cross won 14 straight games during the 2008-2009 season.
- With three points in the win, Bagi was named the Winter Homecoming MVP of the game.

- Salatas is now 10-0-0 on the season, she is the first Crusader in program history to win her first 10 starts in net.
- Boardman has notched at least one point in her last six games.
- The Crusaders are now 10-0-0 at the Hart Center this season, marking the first time in program history that the team has won its first ten home games.
