• The Lead: Junior Rachel Sowinski (Mountain Top, Pa.) placed first in the one mile run as the Crusaders finished fifth with a total of 45.75 points at the New England Indoor Championship.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

• Freshman Alexandra Curtin (Winchester, Mass.) placed seventh overall in the long jump with a mark of 5.47 m, while sophomore Alanna Hitscherich (Sussex, N.J.) came in 17th at 5.16 m.
• In the pole vault, sophomore Jamison Briggs (Keene, N.H.) placed ninth with a height of 3.60 m, as junior Samantha Speroni (Palos Verdes Peninsula, Calif.) came in 18th with a mark of 3.30 m.
• Hitscherich finished 20th overall in the 60 m hurdles, earning a time of 9.34, as sophomore Tori Zamarra (Manalapan, N.J.) placed 22nd at 9.37.
• Curtin finished 25th in the 200 m dash with a time of 25.88.
• In the 400 m dash, sophomore Stefanie McArdle (South Glastonbury, Conn.) finished 33rd overall in a time of 58.84.
• Freshman Lauren Rasmus (Atlanta, Ga.) finished in a tie for 10th place in the pentathlon, registering a score of 3195.
• Junior Alexa Eldracher (Woodbridge, Conn.) earned a third-place mark of 11.81 m in the triple jump.
• Senior Melissa LaCoste (Amherst, N.H.) tied for sixth place in the high jump with a mark of 1.61 m.
• In the 1000 m run finals, sophomore Zoe Matherne (Camp Hill, Pa.) finished second with a time of 2:53.87, just 0.55 seconds out of first. Sophomore Kate Spitler (Marshfield, Mass.) finished third in the event with an ECAC qualifying time of 2:56.16 and sophomore Claire Turner (Norwalk, Conn.) came in eighth at 3:06.17.
• Sowinski won the one mile run with an ECAC qualifying time of 4:54.64.
• Sophomore Hannah Jeter (Eden Prairie, Minn.) came in 10th place in the 3000 m run with a time of 10:03.21, while classmate Annie Sullivan (Southborough, Mass.) placed 24th at 10:28.09.
• In the 800 m run finals, senior Catherine Gildea (Milford, Conn.) finished third with a time of 2:12.11.
• In the 500 m dash finals, senior Oona Wood (Williamstown, Mass.) placed seventh, earning a time of 1:16.70. Wood also earned an ECAC qualifying time of 1:15.32 in the preliminary round of the 500 m.
• Curtin placed 14th overall in the 60 m dash semi-finals with a time of 8.02.
• The squad of Matherne, Gildea, Spitler and Sowinski placed fifth in the 4x800 m relay with a time of 9:15.35.
• In the 4x400 m relay, the team of Wood, sophomore Meghan Dietter (Sherman, Conn.), sophomore Stefanie McArdle (South Glastonbury, Conn.) and sophomore Kelly O'Halloran (Litchfield, Conn.) finished 14th with a time of 3:56.08.

BEYOND THE RESULTS:

• Eldracher's mark of 11,81 m in the triple jump is a new Holy Cross record. This is the second-straight week Eldracher has broken the record, as she set a new record at the Patriot League Championship last weekend with a mark of 11.73 m.

• The Crusaders will be back in action on Friday, Mar. 4th where qualifying student-athletes will compete at the ECAC Indoor Championship in Boston.
