THE LEAD: The Black Knights scored the first four goals of the game as the Holy Cross men's hockey team fell to Army West Point, 4-2, on Friday evening at Tate Rink.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The first period went scoreless as Army outshot Holy Cross, 12-3, while the Crusaders went 0-2 on the power play and the Black Knights went 0-1.
- The Black Knights took a 1-0 lead at 11:59 of the second period when Ryan Nick found the back of the net.
- Army outshot Holy Cross by a 12-10 margin, while the Crusaders went 0-1 on the man-advantage and the Black Knights went 0-3.
- Just 29 seconds after the opening face-off of the third period, Army increased its lead to 2-0 when Dominic Franco deflected a shot by Alex Wilkinson for the power play goal.
- Brendan McGuire gave the Black Knights a 3-0 advantage at 15:06 of the third period.
- Then at 16:51, Zach Evancho netted a power play goal for the 4-0 lead.
- With just 1:10 left in the third period, sophomore forward Jay Mackie netted his first collegiate goal when he sent a one-timer past the stick side of Army goalie Parker Gahagen off a pass by freshman forward Jack Surowiec. Freshman forward Owen Powers also posted an assist on the goal.
- With less than a minute remaining, junior forward Danny Lopez scored a power play goal to cut the lead to 4-2. Junior forward T.J. Moore also recorded an assist on the goal.
- The Crusaders were unable to find the back of the net again for the 4-2 final score.

- Junior goalie Paul Berrafato recorded 26 saves, while Gahagen posted 24.
- The Crusaders went 1-6 on the power play, while the Black Knights went 2-6.

- Lopez has posted at least one point in 13 straight games with eight goals and six assists for 14 points. His 13-game point streak is the longest in the Division I history of the program.
