THE LEAD: Junior forwards T.J. Moore and Danny Lopez each recorded a goal but the Holy Cross men's hockey team fell to AIC, 4-2, on Thursday night in conference action.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Both teams remained scoreless throughout the first period as Holy Cross outshot AIC 10-4. The Crusaders went 0-1 on the power play.
- The Yellow Jackets opened the scoring at 5:02 in the second period when Dominik Florian fired a slap shot from the slot to the back of the net. He was assisted by Jackson Dudley and Shawn McBride.
- Janis Jaks almost increased the AIC lead when he hit a shot off the post with two minutes left in the second period.
- Shortly after, with 1:30 left in the second period, Austin Orszulak scored off a wrist shot from the right face-off circle for the power play goal to increase the Yellow Jackets' lead to 2-0. Martin Mellberg and Blake Christensen recorded assists on the play.
- AIC outshot Holy Cross, 13-6 in the second period. The Yellow Jackets went 1-1 on the power play while the Crusaders went 0-1.
- At 5:49 in the third period, Lopez sent a wrist shot from the left face-off circle to the top right of the goal to make the score 2-1. Freshman forward Kevin Darrar and Moore each posted an assist on the goal.
- At 11:48, a goal by sophomore forward Michael Laffin was reviewed on video replay and overturned as AIC maintained the lead.
- At 13:54, Moore tied the score at 2-2 when he found the back of the net off a pass from Darrar. Senior assistant captain Mike Barrett also recorded an assist on the play.
- Minutes after, at 16:06, Jaks received a pass from McBride and then fired a shot that was deflected off of a Crusader defenseman into the net for the power play goal to give the Yellow Jackets a 3-2 lead.
- Then, with 1:42 left in the game, Johno May recorded a power play goal with a wrist shot from the right face-off circle to increase the AIC lead to 4-2 as Florian and McBride posted assists on the play.
- The Crusaders went with an empty net with 1:15 left but were unable to score for the 4-2 final score.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Holy Cross outshot AIC, 26-23.
- Junior goalie Paul Berrafato recorded 19 saves, while Zackarias Skog tallied 24.
- Holy Cross went 0-7 on the power play, while AIC went 2-4.
- The Crusaders won 34 face-offs, while the Yellow Jackets secured 24.
