• The Lead: The Holy Cross defense forced four turnovers on the afternoon, but the Crusaders were defeated by Colgate 26-8 at Andy Kerr Stadium.
MAN OF THE MATCH PRESENTED BY THE UNITED STATES MARINES:
• After the game, Holy Cross sophomore linebacker Andre Chevalier was selected as the United States Marines Man of the Match.
• Chevalier finished the day with nine total tackles, an interception and a forced fumble.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
• The Raiders opened the scoring midway through the first quarter, when Charles Cairnie forced a fumble in the end zone and Pat Afriyie recovered for a touchdown.
• Jonah Bowman added a 42-yard field goal in the second quarter, and Colgate led 10-0 at halftime.
• Early in the fourth quarter, Bowman added a 28-yard field goal to put the Raiders up 13-0.
• Colgate then put the game away with a pair of rushing touchdowns by Alex Mathews and Jake Melville.
• The Crusaders avoided the shutout when freshman quarterback Emmett Clifford threw a five-yard touchdown pass to senior wide receiver Brendan Flaherty with 35 seconds remaining.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
• Senior linebacker Kyle Young finished the game with a team-high 12 tackles, a tackle for loss, a fumble recovery, a pass breakup and a blocked extra point.
• Senior free safety Luke Ford added 10 tackles, a tackle for loss, an interception and a fumble recovery.
• Clifford connected on eight of 17 passes for 93 yards and a score.
• Senior wide out Jake Wieczorek had a team-best seven receptions for 60 yards, while totaling 173 all-purpose yards.
