The Lead: The Holy Cross women's cross country team finished 22nd out of 45 teams at the Paul Short Invitational hosted by Lehigh on Saturday afternoon.

 HOW IT HAPPENED:

  • Juniors Annie Sullivan (102nd; 21:26) and Hannah Jeter (124th; 21:25) were the first two finishers for Holy Cross.
  • Following them to round of the top five spots for the Crusaders were senior Rachel Sowinski (147th; 21:46), junior Zoe Matherne (159th; 21:51) and senior Caroline Carr (177th; 21:57).
  • Yale won the title with 92 points, as Angel Piccirillo of Villanova finished first in the race with a time of 19:57.

 UP NEXT:

  • Holy Cross returns to action on Oct. 8 when the Crusaders travel to Franklin Park in Boston, Mass. for the New England Championship.
