The Lead: Tori Forrest led the Wildcats with 19 kills as the Holy Cross volleyball team fell to New Hampshire, 3-0, at the Fairfield Invitational at Alumni Hall on Saturday by scores of 25-19, 25-20 and 25-16.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
- Junior captain Katie McKernan (Sylvania, Ohio) posted a double-double with 14 assists and 11 digs. Sophomore Mary Mullen (Mendota Heights, Minn.) led the team with seven kills, while sophomore M.C. Magner (Northfield, Ill.) tallied a team-best 12 digs.
- Forrest also tallied 10 digs for the double-double. Demi Muses posted a double with 12 kills and 14 digs, while Keelin Severtson totaled 32 assists and 14 digs.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE:
- McKernan's double-double was her second of the season and the 22nd of her career.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Wildcats took the first set by a 25-19 score as Forrest recorded six kills for New Hampshire.
- With the Crusaders trailing the second set, 23-18, Holy Cross then tallied two straight points to make it a 23-20 contest. But two consecutive points by New Hampshire gave the Wildcats the 25-20 victory.
- With New Hampshire leading the third set, 19-16, the Wildcats took six straight points for the 25-16 match-clinching win.

- The Crusaders return to action this afternoon, Saturday, Sept. 5, as they take on Stony Brook at the Fairfield Invitational at 3:00 p.m.
