• The Lead: Freshman Lynsey Petersen (Palos Verdes, Calif.) earned a double-double as the Crusaders fell to Colgate by scores of 20-25, 25-15, 25-20 and 25-14 on Saturday afternoon at the Cotterell Court in Hamilton, N.Y.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

• Petersen registered a double-double with 10 kills and 13 digs.
• Junior Mandy Sifferlen (Sudbury, Mass.) led the Crusaders with 19 kills.
• Freshman Caroline Wells (Greensboro, N.C.) registered a team-leading 36 assists.
• Sophomore M.C. Magner (Northfield, Ill.) led Holy Cross with 17 digs.
• Kathleen Harris led the Raiders with 19 kills, while Molly Smith led with 33 assists and Madison McAndrews led with 16 digs.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE:

• Petersen's double-double is her fourth of the season.
• With seven digs in today's match, junior Emily Popp (Clarkston, Mich.) now has 1,110 in her career, which is sixth all-time in program history.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

• With the score tied at nine a piece in the first set, the Crusaders scored six straight points to give them a commanding lead that was too much for the Raiders to overcome. Holy Cross won the set 25-20.
• Colgate bounced back with a strong second set, starting out with a 10-2 scoring run and eventually defeating Holy Cross 25-15.
• The Crusaders jumped out to a 5-1 lead in the third set, but could not hold off Colgate to maintain their lead. The Raiders took over the lead midway through the set at 12-11, and edged Holy Cross 25-20 in the end.
• With five straight points halfway through the fourth set, the Raiders took command of a lead that Holy Cross could not overcome. The Raiders closed out the match with a 25-14 win.

UP NEXT
