THE BASICS:
• Score: Towson 29, Holy Cross 26

• The Lead: Towson tailback Darius Victor rushed 22 times for 207 yards and three touchdowns, to lead the Tigers to a 29-26 victory over the Holy Cross football team at Johnny Unitas Stadium.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
• Junior quarterback Peter Pujals led the Holy Cross offense by completing 26 of 44 passes for 276 yards and a touchdown, while rushing for 88 yards on 17 carries.
• Junior wide out Brendan Flaherty added 10 receptions for 92 yards and a score.
• Sophomore tailback Diquan Walker rushed nine times for 33 yards and a career-high two touchdowns.
• Senior strong safety Matt Bhaya led the Crusader defense with 10 tackles and a forced fumble.
• Sophomore linebacker Nick McBeath added 10 tackles and one tackle for loss.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
• The Crusaders jumped out to a 7-0 lead at the 4:34-mark of the first quarter, with a one-yard touchdown run by Walker on fourth-and-goal.
• The Tigers tied the score at 7-7 in the second quarter on a 15-yard scoring strike from Connor Frazier to Andre Dessenberg, before Walker's second one-yard touchdown run of the game put Holy Cross back in front.
• The Crusaders would add a safety on a blocked punt by junior free safety Luke Ford, to take a 16-7 halftime lead.
• In the third quarter, Victor scored on runs of two and 34 yards to give Towson a 22-16 lead.
• Holy Cross responded with a 42-yard field goal by junior placekicker Zane Wasp, making the score 22-19 at the end of the third quarter.
• Towson added a four-yard touchdown run by Victor early in the fourth quarter to increase its lead to 29-19, before the Crusaders mounted a comeback.
• With 4:16 remaining, Pujals hit Flaherty for a 12-yard touchdown, to cap a 71-yard drive and cut the margin to 29-26.
• The Holy Cross defense would then force Towson to punt, giving the ball back to the Crusaders on their own 16-yard line with 1:59 left to play.
• After moving the ball across midfield, Holy Cross was unable to convert on a fourth down with less than a minute remaining, and the Tigers held on to claim the victory.

• Holy Cross returns to action on Saturday, Sept. 26, when it plays host to Colgate in its Homecoming game at 12:05 p.m.
