HOW IT HAPPENED:

- Senior captain Kevin Wright (McKinney, Texas) made his first save of the game in the 20th minute off a shot by Will Cross. Wright then posted back-to-back saves off shots by Jason Pesek and Tim Whalen in the 21st minute.
- Brown took a 1-0 lead when a hand ball was called in the box on the Crusaders and Gorab found the back of the net on the penalty kick in the 38th minute (37:05).
- Wright made a save off a header by Jack Hagstrom in the 49th minute, then just 58 seconds later he posted a save on a shot by Quinn English to keep the score at 1-0. The Crusaders then took the ball down the field, but a shot by Villano was saved by Norhagen.
- In the 73rd minute, sophomore Yuji Callahan (Okinawa, Japan) attempted to tie the game but his shot hit the crossbar.
- With 23 seconds left in regulation, Villano took a shot that went wide as the Bears posted the 1-0- victory.
KOOLMAN ON THE GAME:

But our team played very well and worked extremely hard. We were very good on the day. We just need to finish our opportunities.”
