The Lead: The Holy Cross men's and women's track & field team opened up day one of the 2015 New England Outdoor Championship, hosted by MIT, in Cambridge, Mass. On the women's side, senior co-captains Brianna Tabin (South Hadley, Mass.) advanced to tomorrow's final heats in the 100 and 200-meter dashes, while Sarah Dahlstrom (Southborough, Mass.) will finish up competition in the heptathlon. On the men's side, junior Kalif Raymond (Lawrenceville, Georgia) advanced to tomorrow's 100-meter dash final. 

HOW IT HAPPENED 

• In the opening events of the heptathlon, Dahlstrom finished first in the high jump (1.58m) and shot put (11.84m), fourth in the 100-meter hurdles (15.82), and sixth in the 200-meter dash (career-best, 27.19). 
• Tabin finished with times of 12.08 in the 100-meter and 25.16 in the 200-meter and advanced to the final heat of each event. 
• Freshman Tori Zamarra (Manalapan, N.J.) recorded a season-best time of 15.37 in the 100-meter hurdles and finished 23rd.  
• Sophomore Jennifer Kimball (South Weymouth, Mass.) finished 16th in the javelin as the threw a distance of 35.54 meters. 
• On the men's side, Raymond qualified for tomorrow's 100-meter dash final as he finished with a time of 10.75 seconds. 
• In the 400-meter hurdles, sophomore William Ward (North Attleboro, Mass.) recorded a time of 55.63 and placed 16th. 

UP NEXT 

• The Crusaders return to the track tomorrow, May 9, for the second and final day of the New England Outdoor Championship and begins at 10:00 a.m.
