- The Lead: Holy Cross senior captain Taylor Stathis (Rockaway Beach, N.Y.) won her No. 1 singles and doubles matches on senior day, to help lead the Crusaders to the 6-1 victory over Bentley in non-conference women's tennis action on Thursday afternoon at the Sinnott Family Tennis Facility.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Stathis won her No. 1 singles match over Ludmila Yamus, 6-4, 6-2, and teamed with junior Jaclyn Carroll (Tewksbury, Mass.) to earn the No. 1 doubles victory over Yamus and Rachel Petrini, 8-3.
- Junior Cassy Deng (Eden Prairie, Minn.) won her No. 2 singles match over Catherine Gianino in a tiebreaking third set, 5-7, 6-4, (10-8), while classmate Abby Henry (Wellesley, Mass.) earned the No. 3 singles win over Petrini, 6-2, 6-2.
- Freshman Katie Elia (Erie, Pa.) picked up the straight-set victory over Olivia con Oldenburg in the fourth flight, 6-3, 6-2, while sophomore Izzy Bagi (Branford, Conn.) claimed the No. 5 singles win over Lexie Hinrichs, 6-0, 6-1.
