THE BASICS
Score: Holy Cross 95, Maine 85
Location: New Balance Field House (Orono, Maine) 
The Lead: Nine Crusaders registered first-place finishes as the Holy Cross women's track and field team came away with the 95-85 victory versus Maine at the New Balance Field on Saturday afternoon. 

HOW IT HAPPENED 

•  In the field events, sophomore Jennifer Kimball (South Weymouth, Mass.) won the high jump set a new career-high at 1.62 meters while sophomore Alexa Eldracher (Woodbridge, Conn.) won the triple jump at 11.32 meters. 
•  Sophomore Rachel Sowinski (Mountain Top, Pa.) won the one mile run with a time of 5:21.96 as well as the 1,000 (3:08.69). 
•  Freshman Stefanie McArdle (South Glastonbury, Conn.) clocked a first place finish in the 400 meter dash (1:00.68) with classmate Meghan Dietter (Sherman, Conn.) won the 500 meter run (1:19.63).
• In the 60 meter dash, senior Mackenzie Arndt (Merrimack, Mass.) placed first at 7.99 as freshman Zoe Matherne (Camp Hill, Pa.) won the 800 (2:18.35) as freshman Hannah Jeter (Eden Prairie, Minn.) recorded a season-best time of 10:17.29 in the 3,000. 
• Other top Crusaders finishes came from senior co-captain Sarah Dahlstrom (Southborough, Mass.) who finished third in the high jump (1.57m), senior co-captain Michelle McGahan (Acton, Mass.) finished second (3.50m) and senior Alexandra Parise (Pine Bush, N.Y.) followed in third (3.50m) in the pole vault. 
• Eldracher finished second in the long jump (5.16m) and freshman Alanna Hitscherich (Sussex, N.J.) followed in third (5.14m) and junior Elizabeth Provost (Adams, Mass.) finished third in shot put (11.25m). Hitscherich also finished second in the triple jump at 11.08 meters, setting a New Balance Field House record as senior MaryGrace Brogioli (Wareham, Mass.) followed in third (10.61m). 
• Sophomore Caroline Morano (Ridgefield, N.J.) registered a third place finish in the one mile at 5:37.06, Ardnt and Hitscherich finished second (9.16) and third (9.35) in the 60 meter hurdles, junior Victoria Engvold (Niskayuna, N.Y.) finished third in the 500 meter run (1:21.91), freshman Claire Turner (Norwalk, Conn.) finished second in the 800 (2:21.59), sophomore Kirsty Gargiulo (Summit, N.J.) finished second in the 1,000 (3:08.80) and sophomore Caroline Carr (Ridgefield, Conn.) finished second in the 3,000 (10:25.43).
• The 4 x 400 relay team comprised of Kimball, Matherne, Engvold and Dahlstrom finished in second with a time of 4:09.33 as the 4 x 800 relay team made up of Gargiulo, junior Hannah Carey (Windham, N.H.), freshman Kate Spitler (Marshfield, Mass.) and Turner also finished second at 10:04.01.

• The Crusaders return to the track on Friday, Feb. 13 as they travel to Boston for the Valentine Invitational at 10:30 a.m.
