  • The Lead: Senior forward Malcolm Miller (Laytonsville, Md.) scored a career-high 30 points to lead the Holy Cross men's basketball team to a 77-70 victory over Boston University at Agganis Arena.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

  • Miller made 10 of 13 field goal attempts, six of seven three-pointers and four of four free throws on the day, in addition to pulling down six rebounds.
  • Sophomore guard Robert Champion (Charlotte, N.C.) scored a career-high 16 points for Holy Cross, hitting six of seven field goals and all four of his three-pointers.
  • Junior guard Cullen Hamilton (Washington, D.C.) added 13 points, while junior guard Eric Green (Mountain House, Calif.) had a career-best six steals.
  • Boston University was led by Cedric Hankerson with 17 points, four rebounds and four assists.
  • The Crusaders hit 48.1 percent of their field goal attempts on the day (26 of 54), including 65.0 percent from three-point range (13 of 20).
  • Holy Cross also forced the Terriers to commit 17 turnovers in the game, while giving the ball away only seven times themselves.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

  • The Terriers started the game hot, jumping out to a quick 7-0 lead after the first three minutes of play.
  • The Crusaders responded by scoring the next six points, and went on to take a 16-12 lead with 11 minutes left before the break.
  • Boston University then went on a 9-0 run to pull back in front, before a 10-0 spurt by Holy Cross made the score 26-21.
  • The Crusaders eventually led 31-29 heading into the locker room.
  • Holy Cross scored the first five points of the second half to extend its lead, and was later up by nine (46-37) with 12:59 left to play.
  • The Terriers would then use a 7-2 run to close the gap, and would later trail by just two points (53-51) with 8:34 remaining.
  • But on the Crusaders' next four possessions, Miller hit three three-pointers, one of which he converted into a four-point play, to give Holy Cross a 64-53 advantage.
  • Boston University was able to trim the margin down to five points twice in the last four minutes, but both times Champion drained a three-pointer to put the Crusaders back up by eight.
  • Holy Cross then made five of six free throws in the final minute to pull out the victory.
