• The Lead: The Crusaders opened their 2015-2016 campaign with the UMass Boston Indoor Open at the Reggie Lewis Center.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

• Sophomore William Ward (North Attleboro, Mass.) finished third in the 400 m dash with a time of 51.30.
• In the 600 m run, sophomore James Donohue (Bronxville, N.Y.) finished 13th with a time of 1:28.09.
• Freshman Brandon Thornhill (Natick, Mass.) won the 60 m hurdle with a time of 8.56, followed by freshman Alexander Escada (East Greenbrush, N.Y.) in seventh at 9.35.
• Escada finished 15th in the high jump with a mark of 1.80 m.
• Senior Tim Dunn (Fords, N.J.) came in second in the pole vault with a mark of 4.25 m, followed by junior Kyle Quinn (North Andover, Mass.) in fifth at 4.10 m and junior Michael Araujo (Southbridge, Mass.) in eighth at 3.95 m.
• Freshman Andrew Delzotto finished 19th in the triple jump at 12.05 m, while freshman Sawyer Badey (Glastonbury, Conn.) finished 20th at 11.88 m.
• Freshman Thomas Chiappini finished eighth in shot put at 12.74 m.
• Freshman Francy Mata came in 11th in the weight throw with a mark of 12.46 m, followed by Chiappini in 13th at 11.83 m.
