THE BASICS:

• The Lead: Brown's Grant Senne kicked a 35-yard field goal with 2:06 remaining in the fourth quarter, to lift the Bears to a 25-24 victory over the Holy Cross football team at Fitton Field.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
• Junior wide receiver Brendan Flaherty led the Crusaders by catching 12 passes for 123 yards and a touchdown.
• Junior quarterback Peter Pujals hit on 31 of 50 passes for 319 yards and three scores.
• Senior wide out Kalif Raymond had six receptions for 86 yards.
• Brown's Marcus Fuller completed 33 of 50 attempts for 412 yards on the day, with Alexander Jette catching 16 passes for 216 yards.
• Sophomore linebacker Nick McBeath led the Holy Cross defense with a career-high 18 tackles.
• Senior strong safety Matt Bhaya added five tackles, a fumble recovery and two pass breakups.
• The Brown defense was led by Zachary Gillen with 10 tackles.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
• The Bears opened the scoring at the 11:18-mark of the first quarter on a 20-yard field goal by Senne.
• Brown added a safety when Richard Jarvis sacked Pujals in the end zone, then Senne kicked a 28-yard field goal to make the score 8-0 after one quarter.
• Senior placekicker Connor Fitzgerald booted a 20-yard field goal to put Holy Cross on the board early in the second quarter, before a four-yard touchdown run by Andrew Coke gave the Bears a 15-3 lead.
• The Crusaders responded with a five-yard touchdown pass from Pujals to sophomore wide out Blaise Bell, before Fuller picked up a fumbled snap to run six yards for a touchdown.
• Just before halftime, Pujals found Flaherty with a six-yard scoring strike, to trim the Brown lead to 22-17 at the break.
• Holy Cross claimed its first lead of the game on its opening possession of the second half, with Pujals hitting junior wide receiver Jake Wieczorek for a five-yard touchdown.
• Neither team would score again until late in the fourth quarter, when Senne's third field goal of the day gave Brown the lead.
• The Crusaders were able to drive down to the Bears' 18-yard line on their final possession, but Fitzgerald's 35-yard field goal attempt was wide left on the last play of the game.
