WORCESTER, Mass. – On Saturday, Oct. 10, the Holy Cross men's soccer team will partner up with the V for Victory Foundation for the team's Pink Game. The Crusaders will host Navy at 7:05 p.m.
Founder and President of the V for Victory Foundation, Valerie Wright, is the mother of Crusader senior captain Kevin Wright (McKinney, Texas).
The V for Victory Foundation is a non-profit organization providing survivors and cancer patients alike with knowledge, guidance and empowerment to aid them in overcoming the psychological and physical distress caused by cancer treatments.
On the night of the game, the men's soccer team will be wearing a special t-shirt during warmups. Fans will be able to purchase the t-shirt with all proceeds going towards the mission of the V for Victory Foundation.
Additionally, members of the foundation will be collecting donations and selling the “Victory Pouch.” The Victory Pouch is a small bag the V for Victory Foundation created for cancer patients to use to contain and conceal drain bulbs. The bags also come with a V for Victory lanyard that can be used to clip drain bulbs on. Their purpose is to assist in the healing process and comfort cancer survivors and patients after surgeries.
