• The Lead: Fordham quarterback Mike Nebrich completed 32 of 42 passes for 315 yards and four touchdowns, to lead the 16th-ranked Rams to a 45-16 victory over the Holy Cross football team at Fitton Field on Homecoming weekend. Following the game, Nebrich received the Johnny Turco Memorial Trophy as the Most Valuable Player of the Crusaders' Homecoming game.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

• Sophomore quarterback Peter Pujals (Glenview, Ill.) completed 18 of 34 passes on the day for 282 yards and two touchdowns, in addition to rushing the ball eight times for 50 yards.

• Senior wide out Tyler Artim (Whitehall, Pa.) finished with a career-best seven receptions for 90 yards and a score.

• Senior cornerback Ben Coffaro (Cincinnati, Ohio) tallied nine tackles and a pass breakup.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

• Following a scoreless first quarter, Fordham took a 3-0 lead on an 18-yard field goal by Michael Marando.

• Nebrich then threw a nine-yard touchdown pass to Brian Wetzel and Chase Edmonds scored on an eight-yard run to give the Rams a 17-0 advantage.

• Holy Cross came back with a 37-yard field by from sophomore placekicker Zane Wasp (Port Washington, N.Y.), making the score 17-3 at halftime.

• Early in the third quarter, Pujals hit sophomore wide receiver Jake Wieczorek (Cumming, Ga.) for a 74-yard touchdown to trim the margin to 17-9.

• But the Rams responded with an eight-yard touchdown pass from Nebrich to Dan Light and a four-yard scoring run by Nebrich, to increase their lead to 31-9 heading to the fourth quarter.

• Nebrich then connected with Marcus Jones for a five-yard touchdown, before Pujals found Artim for a 27-yard score.

• Fordham would conclude the scoring with a 25-yard touchdown pass from Nebrich to Wetzel.
