• The Lead: The Holy Cross men's golf team tied for fourth place out of five teams with a three-round total score of 946 (+82) at the Rhody Invitational on Monday and Tuesday, Sept. 15-16 at the Newport National Golf Club. Rhode Island won the event with a combined team score of 892 (+28).  

HOW IT HAPPENED:

• The Crusaders were led by senior captain Connor Burfeind (Falmouth, Maine), who tied for eighth place with a three-round total score of 231 (+15). Burfeind tied a career-low round of 75 in the second round of the tournament.
• Holy Cross senior captain Craig Norton (Foxboro, Mass.) finished in 12th place with a two-day total score of 234 (+18), while fellow senior captain John Reali (Searingtown, R.I.) recorded a three-round sum of 237 (+21), which earned him 20th place.
• The Crusaders were rounded out by freshman Connor McGuirk (Lexington, Mass.) and sophomore Cameron Murray (Traverse City, Mich.) who finished in 26th and 27th place, respectively, with scores of 248 (+32) and 250 (+34).

UP NEXT:

• Holy Cross returns to action on Monday and Tuesday, Sept. 22-23, when it will participate in the Hartford Invitational at the Bull's Bridge Golf Club in South Kent, Conn.
