The Lead: Sophomore Mandy Sifferlen (Sudbury, Mass.) posted 11 kills, but the Holy Cross volleyball team fell to Navy, 3-0, at the Holy Cross Field House on Friday night in Patriot League action by scores of 25-20, 25-14 and 25-20.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

• Sophomore Emily Popp (Clarkston, Mich.) led the Crusaders with 22 digs, while senior Hannah Grace Stokes (Atlanta, Ga.) tallied 28 assists.
• Navy was led by Gaby Smith who totaled 11 kills. Star Steele posted 33 assists, while Alli Graf secured 14 digs.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

• With Navy leading the first set, 23-20, Smith and Maggie Phillips each posted a kill for the 25-20 win. Sifferlen tallied five kills for the Crusaders.
• The Mids took the second set by a 25-14 score as Tara Dotzauer led Navy with four kills.
• Navy clinched the match with a 25-20 third-set victory as Smith and Sylakowski each tallied four kills.

UP NEXT

• The Crusaders will conclude the season on Saturday, Nov. 15, when they host Patriot League opponent Lafayette at the Holy Cross Field House on Senior Day at 4:05 p.m.
