Army Tops Holy Cross, 4-1

WORCESTER, Mass. - Army scored four in the second half to top Holy Cross 4-1 and win its first Patriot League game of the year Saturday at Linda Johnson Smith Soccer Stadium.

After a scoreless first half, senior Josh Trott (Glen Cover, N.Y.) put the Crusaders on the board at 63:15 on a header from sophomore Felipe Castrillon (Weston, Fla.) for his 11th goal of the season.

Army dominated the rest of the second half scoring four goals, two of which came off corner kicks. The Black Knights out shot the Crusaders, 15-7.

Freshman goalkeeper Thomas Booth had four saves for the Crusaders.

Holy Cross honored its three seniors, Trott, Alex Cruz (Conyers, Ga.) and Andrew Thompson (Avon, Conn.) in a senior night ceremony prior to the game.

The Crusaders fall to 5-8 overall and 1-4 in the league while the Black Knights improve to 5-8-1 overall and 1-4 in the conference.

The Crusaders will host their last regular season home game Tuesday in non-conference action against Harvard at 7:00 p.m.
