Marritt Cafarchia is in her thirdseason as the Holy Cross head volleyball coach in 2010.        

In the 2009 season, the Crusadershad the most overall and Patriot League victories since the 2006season. Also in 2009, Megan Lynch became the first Crusaderfreshman to earn All-Patriot League accolades. Over her first twoseasons the Crusaders have had 11 selections to the Patriot LeagueAcademic Honor Roll.

Cafarchia came to Holy Cross fromTufts, where she served as the acting head coach for the 2007season, while also earning a master’s degree in education.The team recorded a 19-3 record as it won 12 of its last 14 matchesand advanced to the second round of the NESCAC Tournament. She wasan assistant coach at Tufts in 2006 as the Jumbos went 23-8 andfinished fourth in the NESCAC. Cafarchia was also the co-head coachof the Tufts men’s volleyball team in the 2007-2008 season.At Tufts she was the leader of Jumbos in New Orleans, in which shecreated, organized and planned a trip to help 20 Tuftsstudent-athletes go to New Orleans and help with the hurricanerebuilding. Cafarchia has also coached at numerous volleyball campsincluding the Bentley and UC Davis camps.

A native of Arroyo Grande, Calif.,Cafarchia earned her bachelor’s degree in communications fromUC Davis in 2005 where she was a four-year member of the Division Ivolleyball team. She started as a setter her freshman year and thenserved as the team captain for the next three years. She holds theschool record for aces per game and is third all-time in totalaces. Cafarchia also received the “Most InspirationalAward” three times.
