Sofield joined the Crusaders after serving as the program director for Ultimate Lacrosse Charlotte, a youth girls’ program focused on skill development, competitiveness, and overall lacrosse IQ. She worked directly with coach curriculum and player development, in addition to assisting with tournament logistics.

Prior to joining Ultimate Lacrosse, Sofield spent two years as a second grade teacher at Success Academy Charter School Fort Greene in Brooklyn, N.Y. During that time, she was also the director of the roots program for FLG Lacrosse in Huntington, N.Y.

From 2019-2020, Sofield played professionally in the Women's Professional Lacrosse League. She also spent time as an operations assistant and social media intern for the Federation of International Lacrosse in the summer of 2018.

A 2019 graduate of the University of North Carolina with a bachelor’s degree in history, Sofield was a four-year letter winner for the Tar Heels. She served as a team captain during her junior and senior seasons, while being a two-time All-Atlantic Coast Conference and All-America selection. She totaled 49 ground balls, 45 caused turnovers and 38 draw controls in 79 career games played, in addition to posting 11 goals and five assists.

Sofield helped lead North Carolina to four Atlantic Coast Conference championships, three trips to the NCAA semifinals and the 2016 NCAA title. The Tar Heels posted an overall record of 71-13 during her four years on the team.
