Maiya Rawlinson enters her first season as the director of operations for the women's basketball program at Holy Cross in 2022-23.
Rawlinson arrives on Mount St. James after a stint as an assistant coach for the girls varsity program at Friends’ Central School in Wynnewood, Pa. She has worked as an intern for Basketball Operations and Community Events for the Delaware Blue Coats where she assisted in the activation of all community engagement events while organizing youth camps and training sessions. Maiya also was a youth basketball coach for the Jr. 76ers in Wilmington, Del. where her responsibilities were to evaluate individual knowledge, skills, strengths and assign team positions to maximize talent areas as well as directing practice sessions to boost athletic abilities and teamwork.
Maiya has held other positions in the basketball world such as the head basketball coach of the Girls South Jersey Buckets, the assistant coach at West Catholic Preparatory High School in Philadelphia, Pa. and the Director of Basketball Operations of DPS Success Society in Pitman, N.J.
Rawlinson played one year of collegiate basketball for Georgian Court University, an NCAA Division II program in Lakewood Township, N.J. She transferred to Rowan University and graduated with a bachelor of arts in health and exercise science, health promotion and wellness movement in August 2020. Rawlinson is working on her master’s of public health in community health and preventive medicine from Thomas Jefferson University with expected graduation for May 2023.
