Enters 2016 season with 13 career wins which is third most in school history …also has 389 career saves which is good for eighth all time in school history. 

2015: Started in all 13 games as a junior … six wins is tied for fourth most in a season in school history … ranked second on the team with-+ 43 ground balls … ranked fourth in the Patriot League in saves per game with 9.46 …  tied for second on the team with seven caused turnovers ... recorded a season high of 13 saves on two separate occasions – in a 10-9 victory over host Fairfield (2/14) and in a 13-12 victory over No. 8 ranked Loyola (2/21) … named Patriot League Goalie of the Week (2/23) for his performance in the victory over Loyola … tallied 12 saves in a 7-6 victory over No. 9 ranked Army (3/7) and in a 13-11 victory over visiting St. John’s (3/21) …  collected a season high of seven ground balls on two separate occasions – in a 12-10 victory over host Boston University (4/17) and in the victory against Army.

2014: Started in all 15 games … made a career-best 139 saves … ranked second on the team with 36 ground balls … recorded 13 saves as the Crusaders defeated Richmond, 11-9 (3/4) … tallied 13 saves for a .619 save percentage in the 13-8 win at Hartford (3/25) … earned GoHolyCross.com Crusader of the Week honors (4/7) … made 13 saves and allowed five goals for a .722 save percentage in the 10-5 win versus Lafayette (4/5) … named to the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll.

2013: Played in 11 games on the season, starting 10 times … ranked second in the Patriot League with an average of 11.55 saves per game … finished the season with a 4-6 record, a .525 save percentage and a 10.77 goals against average … won the team’s Joseph M. Murphy III Rookie of the Year Award … named Patriot League Rookie of the Week after defeating Navy (3/17), when he recorded 12 saves with a .706 save percentage … scored two goals against Bucknell (3/30).

Before Holy Cross: Four-year member of the varsity lacrosse team at Corona Del Mar H.S. for coach G.W. Mix … two-year team captain … named a 2012 U.S. Lacrosse high school All-American … twice named first team All-League, while earning All-County honors as a senior … had 179 saves and a .710 save percentage as a senior, while allowing just over three goals per game … led team to a perfect 24-0 record in 2012, with the Sea Kings winning the CIF Southern Section and Orange County championships … also lettered in water polo, earning U.S. Water Polo All-Academic honors twice … played club lacrosse with Team America for coach G.W. Mix, and Dallas Select for coach Anthony Crimmins.

Personal: Son of Mike and Maureen Ortlieb … has one brother, Jack (Class of 2017), who is also a member of the Holy Cross men’s lacrosse team … majoring in Political Science.
