AS A SENIOR IN 2015:
• Missed the entire season due to injury, and received a medical redshirt.
AS A JUNIOR IN 2014:
• Saw action in all 12 games at outside linebacker, starting four times.
• Totaled 25 tackles on the year, including 21 solo stops and six tackles for loss.
• Led the team with three forced fumbles, while tying for the team lead with five sacks.
• Ranked second in the Patriot League in forced fumbles and 10th in quarterback sacks.
• Finished the year 27th in the nation in forced fumbles.
• Recorded four tackles against Bucknell, with two forced fumbles, a quarterback sack and a fumble recovery.
• Tallied three tackles with two quarterback sacks and a forced fumble in the victory over Lehigh.
• Made four tackles against Central Connecticut, including two sacks.
• Had a tackle for loss and a blocked field goal against Fordham.
AS A SOPHOMORE IN 2013:
• Played in 10 games as a reserve linebacker and on special teams.
• Made five tackles on the season.
• Had tackles against Central Connecticut, Dartmouth, Harvard, Bucknell and Lehigh.
• Selected to the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll.
AS A FRESHMAN IN 2012:
• Saw action in two games, as a backup linebacker and on special teams.
• Played against New Hampshire and Brown.
HIGH SCHOOL:
• Played for head coach Bryson Warner at Ryle High School.
• Named the Northern Kentucky Athletic Conference Player of the Year as a senior.
• Earned first team All-Star honors from the Northern Kentucky Coaches Association.
• Totaled 74 tackles, three forced fumbles and three interceptions during his senior year, while catching 25 passes for 563 yards and four touchdowns on offense.
• Also lettered in basketball.
• Served as captain of the football and basketball teams in senior year.
PERSONAL:
• Son of Michael and Donnalyn Smith.
• Has one brother (Grant) and one sister (Carly).
• Father played both baseball and basketball at Siena Heights University, and was inducted into the school’s Athletic Hall of Fame in 2004.
• Majoring in Political Science.
