Todd Gilcrist is in his third season on the Holy Cross coaching staff in 2021, serving as the wide receivers coach and pass game coordinator.

Gilcrist has helped guide Holy Cross to back-to-back Patriot League championships and NCAA football championship subdivision berths. During the Spring 2021 season, delayed from the fall of 2020 due to COVID-19, Holy Cross defeated Bucknell in the first-ever Patriot League championship game; wide receiver Ayir Asante earned All-Patriot League honors for the second consecutive year.

In 2019, Gilcrist helped the Crusaders to their first Patriot League championship in 10 years, and just the third NCAA football championship subdivision berth in program history.

Before his time at Holy Cross, Gilcrist spent four seasons as an assistant coach at Columbia University. He served as the Lions’ running backs coach from 2015-2016, then took over as the wide receivers coach from 2017-2018. Gilcrist coached four All-Ivy League selections during his time at Columbia, including wide receiver Josh Wainwright, who set a school record with 1,001 receiving yards in 2017.

Prior to joining the Lions, he spent time as the wide receivers coach and recruiting coordinator at Carnegie Mellon University (2014), the wide receivers and strength and conditioning coach at Thiel (Pa.) College (2013) and the defensive backs coach at Maine Maritime Academy (2012).

Gilcrist is a 2012 graduate of the University of Pittsburgh with a bachelor’s degree in media and professional communications. He was a three-year member of the Panthers’ football team, contributing primarily on special teams in addition to playing safety and wide receiver. He helped Pittsburgh to the 2010 Big East championship and three consecutive bowl game appearances. Gilcrist played his first two seasons of college football at Duquesne University.

Gilcrist and his wife, Bridget, have one daughter (Riley).
