Israel Abraham is in his third season on the Crusader coaching staff in 2021, serving as the running backs coach.

Abraham has helped guide Holy Cross to back-to-back Patriot League championships and NCAA football championship subdivision berths. During the Spring 2021 season, delayed from the fall of 2020 due to COVID-19, he helped develop junior running back Peter Oliver, who became an All-Patriot League selection.

In 2019, Abraham helped the Crusaders to their first Patriot League championship in 10 years, and just the third NCAA FCS berth in program history. He was also instrumental in the development of Patriot League Offensive Player of the Year Domenic Cozier.

Prior to his time at Holy Cross, Abraham served as the running backs coach and recruiting coordinator at American International College for two seasons. Under his direction, halfback Samad Davila earned third team All Northeast-10 Conference honors in 2018.

Prior to joining the Yellow Jackets, Abraham spent time in the National Football League as an external scout with the Cleveland Browns. Previously, he served as the running backs coach at Susquehanna University in 2015 and the special teams coordinator and running backs coach at Stonehill College from 2012-2014. During his time at Stonehill, Abraham coached three all-conference players and won a Northeast-10 Conference championship in 2013. He has also completed Bill Walsh minority internships with both the Tennessee Titans the Los Angeles Chargers.

Abraham graduated from Endicott College in 2012 with a bachelor’s degree in liberal studies. He played cornerback and fullback for the Gulls, helping lead the team to the 2010 Division III New England Football Conference championship and an NCAA tournament appearance.

Abraham’s wife, Cara, is the director of the Crusader Athletics Fund.
