Ashton Grant is in his second year as a volunteer with Bob Chesney’s staff in 2020, handling special teams quality control. In 2019, he helped the Crusaders to their first Patriot League championship in 10 years, and just the third NCAA football championship subdivision berth in program history.
Grant is a 2019 graduate of Assumption College with a bachelor’s degree in sociology. He was a four-year member of the Greyhounds’ football team, serving as team captain during his senior season in 2017. Grant was named the 2016 Northeast-10 Conference Offensive Player of the Year, while earning all-league honors three times and helping Assumption to three straight NCAA playoff appearances. He finished his career as the school’s all-time leader in receiving yards (3,204) and receiving touchdowns (36).
Following his collegiate career, Grant was invited to rookie mini-camps by the Chicago Bears, Kansas City Chiefs and Oakland Raiders, in addition to spending time with the Salt Lake Stallions of the Alliance of American Football.
