Aaron McGinty is in his first year as the assistant secondary coach on Tom Gilmore’s staff in 2015.
McGinty joined the Crusaders after spending the 2014 season as the linebackers coach at Seton Hill University. He was previously the running backs coach at Rhodes College in 2013, where he helped the team to an overall record of 8-2 and the Southern Athletic Association championship.
From 2010-2012, McGinty served as the secondary coach at Williams College. During the 2010 season, Williams ranked first in the New England Small College Athletic Conference in both pass defense and pass efficiency defense, with two defensive backs earning first team All-NESCAC honors.
Prior to his time at Williams, McGinty coached one year for the Swarco Raiders Tirol of the Austrian Football League. During his time in Austria, McGinty fielded the league’s second best defensive backfield. In 2009, McGinty served as a Bill Walsh Minority Fellowship Intern with the Arizona Cardinals. In Arizona, McGinty worked with the defensive backs and special teams. He began his coaching career as the defensive back coach at Northwestern Oklahoma State University in 2008, where he was responsible for the fourth best pass defense in the NAIA.
McGinty played collegiate football at both San Jose City College and Tuskegee University. In 2002, he was named second team All-Golden Gate Conference. He went on to receive his bachelor’s degree from Excelsior College in Albany, N.Y., in 2014.
