Drabinski spent 18 years as the head coach at Brown before leaving the program in the spring of 2014. He led the Bears to an Ivy League Championship in 2007, and set a program record with 27 wins on the season. That year, he received New England Coach of the Year honors from the New England Intercollegiate Baseball Association. Under Drabinski, Brown also posted three-straigh 23-win seasons from 1999 to 2001. The 2007 team garnered two Ivy League major awards, and seven all-conference selections. In 1999, Drabinski was the runner-up for New England Coach of the Year after leading the Bears to their first winning season in 10 years. Prior to his time at Brown, Drabinski also served as an assistant coach at Connecticut under Andy Baylock. More recently, he has coached at the Norwich Free Academy in Norwich, Conn.

Drabinski was a four-year starting catcher at Connecticut, serving as a team captain in both his junior and senior seasons. He helped lead the Huskies to a Big East title in 1990 and an NCAA Regional appearance that season. He earned All-Big East honors in 1988 and was also named to the 1990 Big East All-Tournament Team. Following his collegiate career, Drabinski spent over two seasons with the Atlanta Braves organization, competing in Idaho Falls and Macon, Ga.

Drabinski graduated from Connecticut in 1991 with a bachelor’s in finance, and earned his master’s in sports management after returning to Connecticut in 1994.
