Holy Cross Athletics

Kevin Gately enters his third season as an assistantbaseball coach at Holy Cross for the 2009-2010 season. Gately comesto Holy Cross after serving eight seasons as the primary infieldand outfield coach, hitting coach and assistant recruitingcoordinator at Northeastern. In his first year asassistant coach, the team won the America East conference and wenton to play in the NCAA Regionals against Stanford. Gately was alsoa member of the Lightning Baseball of New England coaching stafffor three seasons. In his tenure there he was head coach of the14-year-old team and an assistant coach with the 12 and 15-year-oldteams.

Gately was the starting shortstop for Northeastern from1991-1994.  During those years, the team set the record ofmost wins by the program twice, 35 in 1991 and 35 in 1994. Gately captained the 1994 team that won the America Eastconference, earning a bid to the program's first NCAA regionaltournament since the 1960's.

Currently, Gately works full-time as the Registrar atRivier College in Nashua, N.H.  From 2006-2009 hewas the Registrar at Middlesex Community College in Lowell, Mass.Gately earned his Bachelor's degree in Political Science fromNortheastern in 1995 and his MBA at Rivier College in 2006. Heresides in Lowell with his wife Renee and two daughters, Juliaand Amanda.
