LOWELL, Mass. – Freshman goalkeeper
Caleb Klepacz recorded a shutout with two saves, as the Holy Cross men's soccer team played UMass Lowell to a 0-0 tie at Cushing Field. The Crusaders move to 0-3-3 overall, while the River Hawks now stand 1-2-2 on the year.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
• Klepacz made one save in each half, as the Holy Cross defense was able to hold UMass Lowell at bay throughout the evening.
• The Crusaders had several good scoring chances, including a free kick by sophomore forward
Archie Hatcher that went off the left post in the 29th minute, but were unable to find the net.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
• Holy Cross finished the game with an 17-9 advantage in shots and a 5-4 edge in corner kicks.
• Klepacz's shutout was the first of his collegiate career.
NEXT UP:
• Holy Cross returns to action on Saturday, Sept. 12, when it plays host to Navy in its Patriot League opener at 2 p.m.
