Mahon named Patriot League Cross Country Runner of the Week

WORCESTER, Mass.- Senior Joseph Mahon of the Holy Cross men's cross country team has been named the Patriot League Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week, the league announced Tuesday, Sept. 8. Mahon won the 2026 Ken O'Brien Invitational with a time of 18:38.1 in the 6K on Saturday, Sept. 5, at UMass Amherst. The Woburn, Mass. native claimed the top spot by more than 10 seconds in the Crusaders' season opener.

Mahon was an All-Patriot League selection a year ago following a third-place finish at the 2025 league championship meet. He is just one of just eight returning All-Patriot League runners from last season. This is Mahon's first career Patriot League weekly award.
