NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. – Senior defender
Jeb Snead scored his first career goal, as the Holy Cross men's soccer team tied Iona 1-1 at Mazzella Field. The Crusaders move to 0-3-2 on the year, while the Gaels now stand 1-1-2 overall.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
• Holy Cross opened the scoring in the 15th minute when Snead put the ball just inside the right post from eight yards out, with an assist from freshman midfielder
Noah Moodey.
• Iona responded in the 42nd minute with a goal by Francesco Borla, tying up the game at 1-1.
• The Crusaders had a number of good scoring chances in the second half, but were unable to find the net and the game ended in a tie.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
• Holy Cross finished the afternoon with a 16-7 advantage in shots and a 7-4 edge in corner kicks.
• Freshman goalkeeper
Caleb Klepacz made one save for the Crusaders.
• Moodey picked up the first point of his collegiate career with his assist.
