Holy Cross Athletics is heartbroken by the passing of volleyball student-athlete Amanda Mack '28 following an illness.
Mack was recruited to play for the volleyball team and enrolled at Holy Cross this summer, but was unfortunately unable to join the team on campus for the start of the year. Our thoughts and prayers are with her family, teammates, coaches, friends and all who were fortunate to know her.
"Losing a member of our HCVB family is devastating, and Amanda will be missed immensely," said volleyball head coach Matthew Cribbin. "Our hearts go out to her family at this unimaginable time. She had so much enthusiasm and passion, and she worked so hard to achieve incredible things in her life. She was so excited to put on the Holy Cross jersey and help create something memorable in our program. Her battle was enormous, and she never wavered, always looking forward to being back with her team. We carry her in our hearts and will play to honor her every day."

A moment of silence in Mack's honor will be held prior to the Holy Cross volleyball team's matches against American on Friday, Sept. 18 and Navy on Saturday, Sept. 19, in addition to Holy Cross' football game on Saturday.
Holy Cross will also remember Mack at Mass on Monday, September 21 in St. Joseph Memorial Chapel at 9 p.m. All are welcome to attend.
