Softball falls to North Dakota on Sunday

NORFOLK, Va. – The Holy Cross softball team fell to North Dakota by a final score of 9-0 to close out the Spartan Round Up on Sunday, Mar. 8.

STARTING IN THE CIRCLE:
  • Holy Cross: Bridget Mulkeen (L, 1-2), 5.1 innings pitched, seven hits allowed, six runs (six earned), six strikeouts, four walks, HBP
  • North Dakota: Tegan Livesay (W, 7-3), 7.0 innings pitched, one hit allowed, no runs, four strikeouts, walk
IN RELIEF:
  • Holy Cross: Avery Toddings, 1.2 inning pitched, four hits allowed, three runs (three earned), two strikeouts, walk
AT THE PLATE:

HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • NDU got on the board in the top of the second with a two-RBI single by Jaedyn Valdez.
  • North Dakota extended its lead to 3-0 with an RBI single by Lastota in the top of the third.
  • NDU scored six additional runs in the sixth and seventh innings to increase their lead to 9-0.
UP NEXT: 
  • The Crusaders will head to Baltimore next weekend for a four game series with UMBC. The Crusaders and Retrievers will start the weekend with a doubleheader on Saturday, Mar. 14.
  • First pitch is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. and 3:30 p.m.
