Men’s tennis earns win over Franklin Pierce

CUMBERLAND, R.I. -  The Holy Cross men's tennis team picked up its first win of the spring schedule defeating Franklin Pierce 6-1 Tuesday morning in Cumberland, R.I.

The victory moved the Crusaders to 2-6 on the campaign while the Ravens fall to 1-7.

DOUBLES PLAY:
  • Holy Cross won at No. 2 and No. 3 doubles to capture the doubles point.
  • Junior Teddy Callery and freshman Luke Prokopis earned the win at No. 2 6-3 while freshman Colton Parker and Aayush Jahaveri had a 6-2 decision at No. 3.
SINGLES ACTION:
  • The Crusaders earned wins at five of the six singles matches to complete the victory.
  • Junior Matt Carlson was victorious at No. 1, 6-4, 6-1.
  • Senior Patrick Ling had a had fought win at No. 4, 7-6, 7-5.
  • Sophomore Lucas Bikkesbakker defeated his opponent 6-4, 6-2 at No. 6.
NEXT UP:
  • The open Patriot League play on Friday, March 13 at home against Colgate (3-4) at noon.
