WORCESTER, Mass. – Junior
Tess Prunier scored a career-high three goals, but the Holy Cross women's lacrosse team was defeated by Dartmouth 16-8 at Scully-Fahey Field. The Crusaders fall to 2-4 on the year, while the Big Green improves to 5-0 overall.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
• Dartmouth opened the game by scoring the first five goals, and went on to lead 8-2 after one quarter of play.
• The Big Green would increase its lead to 11 (14-3) early in the third quarter, before Holy Cross scored three straight goals to close the gap.
• But the Crusaders would get no closer than seven goals the rest of the way, with Dartmouth eventually winning by eight.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
• Sophomore
Hadley Cepiel scored three goals on the day.
• Senior
Mackenzie Creagh made eight save in goal.
• The Big Green finished the game with a 33-18 advantage in shots.
• Charlotte Myers led Dartmouth with four goals and two assists.
UP NEXT:
• Holy Cross will return to action on Saturday, March 7, when it travels to Lafayette for its Patriot League opener at 4 p.m.
